Living With Yourself: Season 1 (2019)

Season 1
Living With Yourself

Critics Consensus

Strange, surreal, and surprising, Living With Yourself takes a minute to come together, but once it does it proves to be a clever rumination on identity driven by Paul Rudd's impressive dueling performances.

You can't just keep the good and discard the bad; you have to live with both.

Arguably, Living With Yourself doesn't follow through on its absurdist logic with quite the same level of commitment, but it's still a lot of fun. Miles and Miles of it, in fact.

In some ways it's a very modern comedy - it doesn't beat you over the head with its set pieces and its characters are far from caricatures.

Rudd exceeds the sum of his two parts here. He's terrific.

It's proof that a show can be clever and fun, but still feel like it's lacking that something extra that takes a program from good to great.

Paul Rudd brings a sprightly antagonism to the twin roles, but you can't help feeling that while the premise has promise, he's not well served by the script. Rudd is the main reason to keep watching. Fortunately, it's a good one.

The show's inventive and humourous, but skews towards the drama as it explores its existential concepts. And while the first half of the eight-episode series is stronger than the second it remains entertaining viewing throughout.

The first season ends with a group hug and leaves us with a warm, fuzzy feeling of hope.

Oct 18, 2019 | Rating: 3.5/5 | Full Review…

Living With Myself tells a snappy, compact story across its short run. Paul Rudd is as effortlessly watchable as ever, and he brilliantly differentiates between the schlubby Miles and the smarter, more dynamic Miles.

Living With Yourself is a meditation on what self-improvement really means, and I sort of appreciated the way it duped you into thinking it would be something else every step of the way.

Light entertainment that's as acceptable as it is disposable. [Full review in Spanish]

Very disappointing. I love Paul Rudd, but this was a waste of time.

A great first season. The wife's character is a little cold, but not enough to ruin the show. Paul Rudd did an amazing job.

A can't-stop-watching series. Once you start playing it, you'll be hooked. And if you like Paul Rudd, you'll love this show.

A fun and fresh take on mental health and getting to know yourself. Cast is great.

    Great, entertaining show

Very original story. My mind kept changing which Paul Rudd to root for as I saw their perspective throughout the story. Almost perfect for me, just how it ends was a little mediocre, sadly.

A smart and witty show that takes pre used plots and give it some original twists. fun fast sharp and creative. less is more and more is less then its an unmatchable equation. because this show gives you more without it being less. therefore more is more.

Paul Rudd and Paul Rudd. Together at last!

Paul Rudd impressively plays two roles, and while it could have been corny, his performance made it excellent. Well written, the show will make you laugh, but will leave you thinking introspectively as it intends.

I thought it was really deep and it changed my perspective on priorities or how I should take care of them, also I am now paranoid on where I stand on the "keeper scale". Emotional roller coaster, with humor!
